Saving HTTP requests

An unsaved request will have a tab label prefixed with '*'. To save a request, open its tab and press the button. This should trigger a form where you will have to input meta information about the request. All fields but Description are required.

Saving a request

When saving, you will be asked to select a request group for a request. A request group, as its name implies, is a container for requests. It allows you to organize and put together related requests. A request cannot be saved unless it is assigned to a request group.

Request group panel

At the left hand side of the HTTP Client is a panel for request groups. Here, you can view existing request groups and perform all sorts of actions on them and the requests they contain such as, but not limited to:

  • adding new groups
  • deleting specific requests and/or groups
  • rearranging the content of request groups
  • renaming groups
  • duplicating groups
  • exporting groups

Creating request groups

To create a new request group:

Creating a new request group

  1. Click the green, '+'-labeled button beside the search bar.
  2. Populate the appearing form. You can use Markdown in the Description field.
  3. Click Save when done.

Once saved, your request group will appear in the tree on the left. You can do a right click on existing request groups to see the list of possible actions. You may also drag and drop saved requests in the tree to change the request group they belong to.

Create new groups while saving a request

When saving a request, a form will appear asking further details about the request. Among the required fields in this form is the group where the request should belong. A panel, similar to the Request Group panel, is shown in the dialog and as with the original interface, you may create new groups there.
